Salute! The North Carolina Wine Festival

The North Carolina Wine Celebration uncorks in the streets of Downtown Winston-Salem, with over 30 North Carolina wineries offering tastings and purchase of their harvest. Voted a "Top 20 Event in the Southeast" by the Southeast Tourism Society, this event offers a total experience that highlights the fast-growing North Carolina wine industry in a fun and festive setting. Delicious food selections, musical entertainment by "Doubletake" and "Carnivalito," and the new "North Carolina Wine University," an interactive and fun educational area will be definite crowd-pleasers.

Description: Music by "Sleeping Booty Band!"

"India Fest 2008 is taking place adjacent to Salute! on May 10 from 12 noon - 5:00 pm in Winston Square Park."

India Fest will showcase the music, dance, food, and culture of India through performances that range from the traditional Indian dance and music to the contemporary music of Indian Bollywood movies. An educational component will highlight the rich culture of India, and vendors will be selling artifacts from India and Indian food.
